Whenever you use Compare Loans, including the loan calculator and the enquiry form. By using Compare Loans you agree to these terms, so if you do not agree, please do not use it.

General information about loans, and a referral service that passes your details to a licensed broker.

• Compare Loans does not give financial advice.
• It does not lend money.
• It does not act as a broker.
• It is not an agent of any lender or broker.
• It is not a party to any loan you take out.

Check every detail with the lender or broker before you act. Compare Loans publishes its information in good faith and shows the date each rate and fee was checked, but rates and fees are indicative and change often.

Compare Loans does not promise that any loan, rate or lender shown will be available to you, or that any application will be approved.

It works out an estimate from the figures you enter and the assumptions shown beside the result. The estimate leaves out fees unless you enter them, and it is not a quote, an offer or an approval.

You ask Compare Loans to pass your details to a licensed broker. The broker is an independent, licensed business, responsible for their own advice, service and conduct, and Compare Loans does not control what the broker offers or recommends.

When you send an enquiry, you agree to:

• give true and accurate details;
• send an enquiry only about yourself, or with the permission of the person it is about.

No. Using Compare Loans costs you nothing. The broker pays Compare Loans a referral fee, as set out in how Compare Loans makes money.

You must not:

• send false details, or details about another person without their permission;
• send enquiries by automated means, such as bots or scripts;
• copy, scrape or harvest content or rate data from Compare Loans by automated means;
• interfere with the security or operation of the website;
• use Compare Loans for anything unlawful.

Compare Loans may block access, or delete enquiries, that break these rules.

The company that runs Compare Loans owns, or has permission to use, the text, tables, calculator, images and design on Compare Loans. You may read, print and share pages for your own personal use.

You may not copy or republish Compare Loans content for commercial use without written permission from Compare Loans. Lender names and trade marks belong to their owners.

Compare Loans links to lender, broker and government websites so you can check details at the source. It does not control those websites and is not responsible for their content.

Anything on Compare Loans that a broker or lender pays for is labelled "Sponsored" at the top.

Nothing in these terms limits your rights under New Zealand consumer law. Apart from those rights, and as far as the law allows, Compare Loans is not liable for a loss that comes from:

• relying on its general information instead of checking with the lender or broker;
• the advice, service or conduct of a broker or lender.

Compare Loans is still responsible for its own negligence, and for anything else the law does not let it exclude.

Your consumer rights include those under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and the Fair Trading Act 1986.

The privacy statement explains how Compare Loans collects, uses and shares personal information. It is part of these terms.

New Zealand law applies to these terms and to your use of Compare Loans. New Zealand courts decide any dispute, including the Disputes Tribunal for claims within its limits.

Compare Loans may update these terms. The date under the heading shows the current version, and the terms shown on the day you use Compare Loans are the ones that apply.
